Information Meeting: Friday, 29 January 2021

SWALSC and the trustee for the Noongar Charitable Trust are holding an information meeting on
10am – 12:30pm, Friday, 29 January 2021, for all Noongar people.

BACKGROUND

The Noongar Charitable Trust was established to provide for the relief from poverty, sickness, suffering, destitution, misfortune and helplessness of the Noongar community. The trust aims to support projects which offer a direct and noticeable benefit to the Noongar community.

PURPOSE OF THE INFORMATION MEETING

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information to Noongar people regarding the purchase by the trust of the El Caballo properties at Wundowie and the distribution of funds to the Aboriginal Housing Recovery Centre Limited (AHRCL) to purchase properties at Midland and Guildford, Perth.

AGENDA

  • The acquisition, ownership and management of the El Caballo, Midland and Guildford properties
  • Consultation about the management and future of the El Caballo properties
  • Noongar priorities for the Noongar Charitable Trust
  • Ongoing communication and consultation with Noongar people.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a maximum of 200 people may be at the hall at one time. The meeting will be live-streamed on zoom for pre-registered Noongar people.
